Pain Pharmacogenetics

All patients react differently to pain, there is a very large difference in how one patient will respond to a commonly prescribed pain medication to another (Argoff 2011).

For example to patients with the same diagnosis, prescribed the same drug and dose often respond completely differently. In fact, up to 40% of patients prescribed certain pain killers are said to be “poor responders”. Our test helps doctors improve medicine selection and dosing for individual patients, supporting a personalised approach to treatment.
