Orthopaedics

Orthopaedics is an area of surgery concerned with injuries and conditions that affect the musculoskeletal system (the bones, joints, ligaments, tendons, muscles and nerves).

You may be referred to an orthopaedic consultant for treatment of an injury such as a bone fracture, a deformity of the spine or limbs, or a long-term condition that’s developed over many years, such as osteoarthritis.

Our Orthopaedic surgeons have a a great deal of experience with various conditions which affect the bones and joints. They will assess you and then decide on the best type of management for your condition. Sometimes physiotherapy, osteopathic referral, acupuncture, medication or other non-surgical management such as ultrasound guided injections are the preferred treatment option. All of these are available here at Chase Lodge. Sometimes an operation is advised and they will discuss with you where this will be performed.
